The Hotel Torre del Conde, in San Sebastián de La Gomera, has completed the renovation of its rooms and enhances its gastronomic offer with local products. The management aims to increase the average stay, which is currently two to three nights.

The Hotel Torre del Conde, located in the heart of San Sebastián de La Gomera, has completed a comprehensive renovation process of its facilities that began three years ago. The establishment, which maintains a policy of competitive prices, has improved its rooms, breakfast service, and has incorporated a dinner buffet and an à la carte restaurant, according to its director, Nikos Maniatas.

Renovation and commitment to local products

Maniatas explained that the goal has been to “improve the hotel without losing its essence.” The renovations have allowed for a higher level of service while maintaining an “excellent quality-price ratio.” Additionally, the hotel has strengthened its commitment to zero-kilometre products by incorporating local foods into its gastronomic offer.

“We bet on local and zero-kilometre products because we believe they are part of the visitor's experience,” said the director. The hotel's location, just a few steps from the beach, the port, and shops, is another of its great assets, according to management.

La Gomera: a different destination seeking to extend stays

La Gomera has established itself as a destination for nature, tranquility, and authenticity, distinguishing itself from other more crowded islands. However, the average stay on the island remains short, between two and three nights, something that Maniatas attributes to good maritime connections and the profile of the visitor.

“We believe there is room to increase it,” he stated. The key, according to the director, lies in expanding the complementary offer: “If we can provide more cultural, gastronomic, and leisure experiences, we will give visitors more reasons to stay one more night.”

In this regard, the hotel plans to create synergies with small local businesses to offer experiences linked to the territory. “We want to complement the work of the Cabildo by enhancing collaboration with local companies,” added Maniatas.

Visitor profile and future opportunities

The profile of the guests at Hotel Torre del Conde is diverse. During high season, visitors attracted by hiking and nature predominate, while throughout the rest of the year, a more varied audience arrives. “This variety allows us to position ourselves as a different product within the Canary Islands,” the director highlighted.

Maniatas noted that current customers increasingly seek personalized experiences. La Gomera, he said, “still has room to continue developing a broader complementary offer,” especially in gastronomy and activities with local guides.

“Our goal for the coming years is to create synergies with small local businesses and offer our guests more experiences linked to the territory, enriching their stay and adding value to the destination,” he concluded.

The Hotel Torre del Conde has several improvements planned for 2026 that will be implemented progressively, aiming to further enhance the guest experience and strengthen its positioning in the tourist offer of the Canary Islands.
