The singer returned to the island ten years later with a message on social media that went viral. The Gran Canaria Stadium posted a 'sold out' sign to see him alongside Dani Martín and Grupo Frontera.

Alejandro Sanz stepped back onto the stage of the Granca Live Fest after a decade without performing in Gran Canaria. Hours before his performance, the artist published a message on his social media that quickly went viral: "Ten years is too long for an island that has always felt like home. Today we are not here to make up for lost time... we are here to show that there are songs capable of keeping it intact. Gran Canaria, it was about time."

The post garnered thousands of reactions within minutes and became one of the most shared contents of the day. The singer's fans did not hide their excitement at the return of one of the most beloved artists in the national scene.

A Gran Canaria Stadium Packed to the Rafters

The third day of the Granca Live Fest once again demonstrated the festival's appeal. With a sold out sign, dozens of people searched for tickets until the last minute through social media, while the surroundings of the Gran Canaria Stadium saw a large influx from early afternoon.

Finding parking in the Siete Palmas area became an odyssey. Many vehicles even occupied the sidewalks as the first chords of the afternoon began to play. The atmosphere grew with performances from Agua del Chorro, Grupo Frontera, and Dani Martín, who moved the audience by revisiting the great anthems of El Canto del Loco and his solo career.

"This is my favourite concert on the Island in my 26 years of career. I leave filled with love and affection," confessed the Madrid native before saying goodbye.

"When I was a child, I dreamed of doing this"

At 22:35, the most awaited moment arrived. Alejandro Sanz appeared on stage with 'Desde cuándo', starting a performance that combined classics like 'Amiga mía', 'Mi soledad y yo', '¿Y si fuera ella?', and 'Corazón partío' with songs from his new tour '¿Y ahora qué?'.

During the concert, the artist once again demonstrated the affection he feels for the Island. "When I was a child, I dreamed of doing this that I am doing right now. I have to thank you from the bottom of my heart for welcoming us. It is one thing to arrive in Las Palmas and feel the warmth and embrace of the Island. Everything is warm, everything is beautiful," he said to an enthusiastic audience.

One of the most special moments came when he invited the timple player Hirahi Afonso to perform 'Cuando nadie me ve', incorporating the sound of the most representative instrument of the Canaries. A nod that did not go unnoticed by the attendees, who sang along to every note.

A Journey to the Adolescence of Thousands of Canarians

For many present, Alejandro Sanz's concert was a trip back in time. Songs like 'Corazón partío' and 'Amiga mía' resonated with the same strength as two decades ago, and there was no one who did not get emotional hearing them live. The singer, with his usual rapport, managed to connect with an audience that grew up with his songs.

The Granca Live Fest thus concludes a record-breaking edition, with absolute sell-outs across its three days. Attendees, who packed the stadium and its surroundings, experienced a unique event that combined music, atmosphere, and the warmth of the Canarian fans. For those who could not secure a ticket, there is always the consolation that perhaps the wait will not be so long this time.
