The Los Llanos de Aridane Town Hall, through Social Services, assisted 323 individuals during the extraordinary regularisation process initiated by the Spanish Government, with 486 advisory actions.

The Los Llanos de Aridane Town Hall has concluded the extraordinary regularisation process for foreign individuals with a total of 323 individuals assisted. The Social Services team carried out 486 advisory and support actions during the nearly three months the procedure was open.

A municipal team dedicated to processing

The Councillor for Social Welfare and Equality, Idaira Pérez, highlighted the team's work. “The legal advisor, social workers, administrative staff, and the rest of the professionals have done a great job to ensure that all individuals received close attention,” she stated.

The municipal service managed 143 files, fees, and administrative appointments. Each applicant received personalised advice, resolution of queries regarding requirements and documentation, as well as continuous follow-up until the deadline.

Majority profile: Venezuelan and Colombian women

The majority of those assisted came from Venezuela and Colombia. Assistance was also provided to citizens from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Honduras, Morocco, Mexico, and Nepal. The predominant profile corresponds to individuals aged between 38 and 56 years, with a focus on women.

Idaira Pérez added that “behind each file were individuals who needed support to navigate a complicated procedure. We did not want anyone to miss the opportunity due to a lack of information or support.”

A key service for the residents of La Palma

For foreign residents in Los Llanos de Aridane, this municipal service has been a bureaucratic lifeline. The Town Hall prevented many from being excluded from the process due to ignorance or difficulties with the procedures. Personalised attention and case-by-case follow-up made a significant difference.

The regularisation process, initiated by the Spanish Government, aimed to facilitate the administrative situation of thousands of foreigners in irregular situations. In La Palma, the municipal response has been an example of closeness and efficiency.

Residents who still have questions about their situation can go to the Town Hall's Social Services, which continue to offer ordinary advice on immigration matters.
