The footage, recorded during the celebrations for Morocco's national team's victory in the football World Cup, has led officers to identify several drivers involved.
According to the police force in a statement, Citizen Security patrols began the inquiries after detecting behaviors that could constitute administrative infractions and even criminal offenses. As a result, several of the drivers have already been questioned as suspects and have been summoned to appear before the judicial authority.
Complaints and Criminal Proceedings
In addition to the criminal proceedings sent to the court, officers have filed complaints for alleged reckless driving and for other possible administrative infractions. The Local Police has reminded that reckless driving that endangers the life or physical integrity of individuals can constitute a crime defined in Article 380 of the Penal Code, punishable by prison sentences of six months to two years and with the deprivation of the right to drive for one to six years.
The investigation remains open, and both the images circulated on social media and those obtained from the municipal video surveillance system and OCR license plate readers are being analysed. The aim is to identify the remaining drivers who allegedly participated in these events.
