Next Saturday, Las Playitas will host a charity golf tournament with a registration fee of 70 euros per person, which will go entirely to the Cancer Association in Fuerteventura. Canaragua sponsors the event, which has become a solidary classic on the island.

The town of Las Playitas, in the municipality of Tuineje, is preparing to welcome a new edition of the charity golf tournament organised by the Spanish Association Against Cancer this Saturday. The initiative, presented yesterday at the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, aims to raise funds for the free services provided by the entity to cancer patients and their families on the island.

The tournament will be played in the Four Ball Best Ball format, with three categories per pair. Registration, which remains open until tomorrow Friday, costs 70 euros per person. All proceeds will be entirely allocated to the Cancer Association in Fuerteventura.

Free Services for Patients and Families

The funds raised will finance psychological care, social support, and companionship that the association offers free of charge to cancer patients and their loved ones during all phases of the illness. Additionally, part of the money will be allocated to oncology research projects aimed at increasing survival rates and improving the quality of life for patients.

Isabel Laucirica, president of the Insular Board of the Spanish Association Against Cancer, highlighted that "this tournament once again becomes an opportunity to raise funds that allow us to continue offering free psychological, social, and companionship support to cancer patients and their families, as well as to continue supporting cancer research."

Institutional Support and Private Sponsorship

The tournament has Canaragua as the main sponsor, along with the collaboration of Playitas Sports Resort, the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, the Town Hall of Tuineje, and numerous public and private entities. This extensive network of support consolidates the event as one of the reference charity events on the island.

The insular councillor for Social Welfare, Víctor Alonso, stated that "from the Cabildo, we will continue to support initiatives that unite solidarity and social commitment, contributing to entities like the Cancer Association continuing to develop essential work for many families on the island."

An Event That Is Already a Tradition

The charity golf tournament in Las Playitas has become an unmissable event for sports and solidarity lovers in Fuerteventura. The combination of golf and a charitable cause attracts dozens of participants each year, who do not hesitate to contribute their bit to help those in need. Furthermore, the privileged setting of the Las Playitas course, with views of the Atlantic, makes the day also a tourist and sporting attraction.

For the residents of Tuineje and the rest of the island, this initiative represents an opportunity to actively collaborate in the fight against cancer, a disease that affects many families in Fuerteventura. Registration, which can be done until Friday, includes participation in the tournament and likely some additional details that will make the experience more enjoyable.

On Saturday, starting early in the morning, golfers will take to the holes of Las Playitas with a clear goal: to make this sport a tool for solidarity. Those who cannot participate as players can still contribute by attending the event or spreading the initiative. After all, in Fuerteventura, solidarity is also played in green.
