The island council, through Sodetegc, has opened the period for contracting the cloud service and maintenance of Datagran, its data analytics and interoperability tool. The budget exceeds 870,000 euros.
The Gran Canaria Cabildo has initiated the tender to renew and evolve its smart data platform, Datagran. The contract, managed by the Society for the Development of Telecommunications (Sodetegc), has an estimated value of over 870,000 euros and an initial execution period of two years, with the possibility of an extension of up to twelve months.
Companies interested in providing this service have until September 15, 2026, to submit their bids. The purpose of the contract is twofold: on one hand, to provide infrastructure as a service in the cloud (IaaS) and, on the other, to ensure specialized technical assistance for the continuity and evolution of the platform.
Datagran is the corporate tool of the Cabildo for interoperability, analytics, and information exploitation. Its role is essential within the Strategic Plan for Governance and Public Innovation, acting as the backbone infrastructure on which numerous vertical projects rely to share large volumes of data, interoperate, and generate intelligence.
The platform is already in production and supports solutions such as Sitgran, Alertagran, Energigran, Aquagran, the Insular Events Portal, Sensogran, and the digitalization initiatives included in the three sustainability plans managed by the Cabildo.
With this new contract, the island institution consolidates its data infrastructure and ensures that Datagran continues to operate securely, stably, and evolutionarily. The platform integrates information and services from various areas such as tourism, emergencies, energy, water, sustainability, territorial sensing, and events.
The new contract will provide cloud infrastructure and specialized technical service, ensuring operational continuity, allowing for technological and functional evolution of the platform. The tender represents another step in the Cabildo's digitalization strategy, which aims to improve efficiency in the management of island data.
Among the solutions currently supported by Datagran are some developed by Sodetegc and the Society for Economic Promotion of Gran Canaria (Spegc). These tools range from territory monitoring to emergency management, including energy and water control.
The platform also hosts the Insular Events Portal, which centralizes information about cultural and leisure activities on the island. Additionally, Sensogran collects data from sensors deployed in the territory for real-time decision-making.
The renewal of Datagran is part of the Cabildo's commitment to smart governance and public innovation. With this investment, the institution aims not only to maintain current operability but also to incorporate technological improvements that will address future challenges in data management.
