The Cabildo of La Gomera is organising the second edition of 'La Gomera, Fashion and Magic' on July 25 at 20:00 in the Port of Vueltas (Valle Gran Rey), featuring over fifteen designers and the novelty of a local commerce programme.

The 30-metre runway installed next to the Vueltas pier, with the coastal landscape in the background, will once again be the stage for an event that aims to establish fashion as an economic and cultural driver on the island. Access will be free until capacity is reached, and the show will present collections for the upcoming season from brands and creators who have participated in this programme to boost the textile and creative sector over the past few months.

A Runway with a Local Stamp and Inter-Island Collaboration

Confirmed designers include local creators such as Ananas Wear, FILST, Puro Pellejo, Zapatita, Sonia Medina Upcycling, My Celium, Alma Libre, Alhaja Art Couture, and Matices by Deniz Passoti. The diversity of proposals ranges from sustainable fashion and textile recycling to artisanal design and haute couture.

As a guest island, Tenerife Moda will participate with the brand Arena Negra Swimwear and designer Yusef Perdomo, a finalist in the Young Designers Contest of Tenerife Moda. This inter-island collaboration strengthens the ties between the two cabildos and allows for the sharing of experiences and talents.

The New Feature: 'Fashion and Commerce' to Bring Garments Closer to the Public

The main novelty of this edition is the launch of 'La Gomera, Fashion and Commerce', an initiative developed alongside the Chamber of Commerce of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Thanks to this programme, the garments showcased on the runway will subsequently be available for purchase in a dozen establishments on the island, which will act as permanent sales points for the collections.

This system aims to strengthen the connection between designers, businesses, and consumers, promoting the marketing of local products and energising local commerce. For the Cabildo, this is a key step to ensure that island talent does not remain just in the showcase but has a real outlet in the market.

The event reaffirms its commitment to sustainable fashion, local talent, and economic diversification through creativity and design. The event takes place in a privileged setting, with the Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop, making the runway a unique visual experience for attendees and participants.

For the residents of La Gomera, this initiative represents an opportunity to see and purchase fashion from the island without having to travel to other islands. Moreover, the free nature of the show allows anyone interested to come to the Port of Vueltas and enjoy the collections. The Cabildo anticipates a high turnout, so it recommends arriving early to secure a good spot.
