The Vertical Kilometre 'Las Gracioseras' will kick off the Unique Trail Lanzarote by Joma, which will be held from October 15 to 17 on the island. The event, featuring 2.4 kilometres and a positive elevation gain of 400 metres, will take place along the iconic Risco de Famara, offering spectacular views of La Graciosa.
A Tribute to the Women of La Graciosa
The name of the race pays homage to the 'gracioseras', women from the neighbouring island who for generations have walked up and down this very path with baskets of fish on their heads. The organisers highlight that the route evokes their effort and resilience, turning the event into a journey through the history of Lanzarote.
The event, organised by Summits Sports Events and K3 Servicios Deportivos Integrales, is sponsored by the Cabildo de Lanzarote, the Insular Sports Service, the Centres of Art, Culture and Tourism, and the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands, among other entities.
A Weekend of Trail Running
Following the vertical kilometre on Thursday, the Kinder Trail, a category designed for the youngest participants, will take place on Friday, October 16. Saturday, October 17, will feature the main events with the longer distances: the Manriqueña Starter (12 km), the Half Marathon (23 km), the Marathon (46 km), and the Ultra Marathon (67 km).
The Unique Trail Lanzarote by Joma has established itself as a key event in the national trail running calendar, attracting runners from across the country. The island, with its volcanic landscapes and unique trails, offers an unparalleled setting for mountain enthusiasts.

The event is supported by the municipalities of Yaiza, San Bartolomé, Haría, Teguise, and Tías, as well as companies such as Radisson Blu, Mynd Yaiza, Barceló Playa Blanca, Grill-Asador Volcán de la Corona, Bodegas Vega de Yuco, and Pleamar MP Distribuciones. This extensive collaboration reflects the island's commitment to sports and sustainable tourism.
