The Sports Department of the Cabildo of Tenerife and the Inter-Island Federation of Motorsport of Santa Cruz de Tenerife have approved a grant of €247,000 that will benefit 13 teams on the island. This funding, which is being repeated for the second year, supports the organisation of over 20 competitions for the 2026 season.
The Cabildo of Tenerife, through its Sports Department, and the Inter-Island Federation of Motorsport of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (FIASCT) have renewed their collaboration agreement for the 2026 financial year. Both institutions have allocated a grant of €247,000 that will be distributed among the 13 organising entities of motorsport events on the island.
The financial allocation, which was also granted in 2025, aims to support the competition calendar for the season, which includes rallies, mountain tests, rally sprints, karting, and dirt speed events. In total, more than 20 events will benefit from this funding, with amounts ranging from €3,700 to €39,725.60.
The largest grant, of €39,725.60, corresponds to the 35th International Rally Villa de Adeje Tenerife, organised by CD Escudería Villa Adeje Barranco del Infierno. Meanwhile, the 52nd Rally Orvecame Isla Tenerife will receive €24,000.80, and its historic version will receive another €23,904.18, both organised by CD Rallyten Sport.
Other notable events include the 42nd Rally Orvecame Norte, which will receive €16,382.33 for Escudería Daute Realejos, and the 51st Mirador de Güímar Hillclimb, which will receive €15,454.61 for Sequential Racing Team. Also listed are the 34th Rally Villa de Granadilla (€15,464.27) and the XXIII Arona La Escalona Hillclimb (€15,802.50).
The karting events, managed by CD Cronokan Cronometraje, will receive €4,000 for the first date and €3,700 for each of the following two. In dirt speed events, Escudería Motor Abona stands out, receiving €2,537.70 for the event in San Miguel de Abona, and the Elemental Escudería Arico Competición, which totals €16,254.59 for three events in Arico.
The president of FIASCT, Francisco Negrín, has positively assessed the collaboration with the Sports Department, led by Yolanda Moliné. “It is an honour to be able to work in favour of the organisers in their difficult task of organising the various competitions scheduled throughout the year,” Negrín stated, adding that “Yolanda Moliné has opened the doors of her office to us and has understood the weight that motorsport carries.”
Negrín emphasised that the councillor “has dedicated herself to our sport like never before,” and expressed his desire to “continue working in this direction.” FIASCT represents the teams and clubs that, through their efforts, keep the competition calendar alive on the island, many of which are included in national calendars.
The grant is part of the collaboration agreements between the Cabildo and the federation, which aim to strengthen motorsport in Tenerife. The Sports Department has highlighted the social appeal of these events and their contribution to the economic and tourist dynamism of the municipalities where they are held.
For motorsport fans in Tenerife, this funding ensures the continuity of iconic events such as the Rally Villa de Adeje, which attracts participants from all over Spain, or the Mirador de Güímar Hillclimb, one of the classic dates on the island's calendar. The 2026 season is expected to kick off in the early months of the year, with the calendar yet to be officially confirmed.
