Twenty people participated in the 'Sound Postproduction Course' taught by José Ignacio Arrufat, sound engineer of 'La Casa de Papel'. The free training took place at the Palace of Training and Congresses of Fuerteventura.
The sound engineer José Ignacio Arrufat, known for his work on series such as 'La Casa de Papel', was in charge of delivering the last workshop of the first training block of 2026 for Fuerteventura Film Commission. The course, titled 'Sound Narration in Film and Television', took place over five days, from July 6 to 10, at the Palace of Training and Congresses of Fuerteventura.
Twenty students trained in sound postproduction
A total of 20 people participated in this free training, which provided a practical and specialised insight into sound postproduction processes and the role of sound narration in audiovisual creation. Attendees were able to learn firsthand the techniques used in high-level productions, thanks to Arrufat's experience, who has worked on internationally successful series and films.
The councillor of Fuerteventura Film Commission, Nereida Calero, highlighted that "we continue to bet on specialised training that meets the real needs of the audiovisual industry and allows professionals on the island to expand their knowledge and improve their job opportunities."
"With this first training block, we reinforce Fuerteventura Film Commission's commitment to creating local talent, bringing renowned professionals to the island who provide a practical and current perspective of the sector," Calero added.
Over 60 hours of free training in 2026
This course concludes the first block of workshops organised by Fuerteventura Film Commission during 2026, which has included specialised actions in scenography, scriptwriting, and sound postproduction. The aim has been to strengthen professional training in different areas of audiovisual production, adding up to more than 60 hours of free training for participants.
For residents of Fuerteventura interested in the audiovisual sector, this initiative represents a unique opportunity to train with top professionals without having to leave the island. Training will continue after the summer, with a second block offering new workshops related to makeup, cinematic lighting, and sound, among other specialties.
Fuerteventura, a reference destination for audiovisual production
With this programme, the entity continues to promote the specialisation of professionals and the development of local talent, reinforcing Fuerteventura's position as a reference destination for audiovisual production. Councillor Calero emphasised that "training is key for island professionals to access jobs in a growing sector."
Those interested in upcoming courses should keep an eye on the announcements that Fuerteventura Film Commission will publish on its website and social media. Places are limited and demand is usually high, so early registration is recommended. The second block is expected to begin in September 2026.
