The fifth edition of the Advanced Animation course, organised by Fuerteventura Film Commission, kicks off at the Maxocrearte School in Puerto del Rosario with in-person training until December.

Fuerteventura Film Commission has officially launched the fifth edition of the Advanced Animation course, a training programme that will be held at the Maxocrearte School in Puerto del Rosario. The programme, organised by the Sociocultural Association Omotenashi, will take place in person until next December.

The course is aimed at individuals with prior experience in animation who wish to expand their knowledge and improve their chances of entering the audiovisual sector, an industry that continues to grow on the island. Participants will delve into 2D and 3D animation techniques, basic modelling, character creation, drawing, scriptwriting, and scene composition.

Artificial intelligence and Blender in the programme

One of the new features of this edition is the inclusion of artificial intelligence tools applied to creative processes, as well as specific training in the software Blender. The councillor of Fuerteventura Film Commission, Nereida Calero, emphasised that this initiative aims to generate local talent and open new professional opportunities. "The training helps to establish Fuerteventura as a destination with qualified professionals for the audiovisual industry," she stated.

The course is taught by Tenesor Cruz Niesvaara, a professional in the audiovisual sector and winner of the Best Direction award at CineMadrid. The instructor has participated in productions such as Crayola and Unos Brackets para Cleo, aired by Televisión Española and distributed on international platforms.

Professional talks and final demo reel

The training will also feature guest professionals who will offer talks and practical sessions. The aim is to help students create a final demo reel that facilitates their entry into the job market. For residents of Puerto del Rosario and the rest of the island, this training represents an opportunity to access a booming sector without having to leave Fuerteventura.

The course, which will last for six months, promises to be a springboard for those who dream of working in animation. And who knows, perhaps the next big success in Spanish animation will have a majorero accent.
