Around 18,000 people enjoyed the twentieth edition of Fuerteventura en Música (FEM) this weekend, held at La Concha beach in El Cotillo. On Saturday, 11,000 attendees were thrilled by Antonio Carmona and other artists.

The Fuerteventura en Música festival (FEM) reached its twentieth edition with a record attendance of 18,000 people over the weekend. La Concha beach in El Cotillo was the venue for this free event that combines international and Canary Island music.

The second and final day, on Saturday, gathered 11,000 attendees. The closing act was Antonio Carmona, who performed his greatest hits. Before that, the audience enjoyed performances by Arife, Queralt Lahoz, Kumbia Boruka, Pongo, and Woodhands.

A free and sustainable festival

The organisers highlight that FEM has maintained its free, open, and inclusive character since its inception two decades ago. The programme combined international artists with local talent, such as the Arife project, which opened the day with musical roots from the archipelago and its connection to Africa.

The commitment to sustainability and respect for the natural environment continues to be a cornerstone of the festival, which takes place in a privileged setting like La Concha beach.

Daytime programming and family atmosphere

The day began with FEM de Día, organised alongside Cotillo Joven, which filled the Muellito of El Cotillo with workshops and performances by Papaya Subtropical, Naby Zana Band, Hey Chabón, and Chocolate Sexy. This initiative aims to bring music to all audiences and encourage local participation.

For the residents of El Cotillo and the rest of Fuerteventura, FEM has become an unmissable summer event. The free entry allows families and young people to enjoy quality concerts at no cost.

The festival has proven that the combination of beach, music, and sustainability is a successful formula. With 18,000 attendees, FEM solidifies its place in the cultural calendar of the Canary Islands.
