The Town Hall of Pájara will recognise eight individuals and groups tomorrow for their work in sports, culture, and education, in a ceremony at the hermitage of San Miguel.
The municipality of Pájara will experience a new edition of the Honours and Distinctions ceremony tomorrow, Friday, 24th July, an event scheduled by the Town Hall at 20:00 hours at the hermitage of San Miguel. In total, eight recognitions will be awarded to individuals and groups who have excelled in their contributions to sports, culture, and education in the locality.
Among the awardees is the Fuerteventura Motorcyclists Association, which will receive a sculpture in recognition of its work. The local pigeon racing enthusiasts will also be honoured, with a commemorative plaque to be placed in a public space. Local artist Juan Miguel Cubas will have a street, avenue, or square named after him, while Ezequiel de Saá Díaz, for his educational dedication, will have a plaque in a public road or space.
The municipality's Gold Medal will be awarded to Ramón Domínguez Valerón, in recognition of his efforts in promoting athletics at the local and island level. Additionally, the Casa de Canarias in Madrid will be recognised for its cultural and social contributions, and José Germán Belmonte Grass for his ties to Pájara.
The Town Hall has emphasised that this event aims to highlight the effort, dedication, and positive influence of citizens and groups in the social, cultural, educational, and sporting development of the municipality. With these awards, the Town Hall reaffirms its commitment to publicly recognising those who, from various fields, have contributed to the growth and projection of Pájara.
Residents are invited to attend the event, which will be held outdoors in the vicinity of the hermitage of San Miguel, an emblematic space in the historic centre. The presence of local authorities and representatives of the honoured groups is expected.
