Marlon and Jackie Jackson are already on the island of Fuerteventura, where they will offer a unique concert in the Canaries this Wednesday as part of the La Carpa 2026 festival, taking place at Playa de Sotavento in Jandía.
The legendary The Jacksons landed in Fuerteventura on Tuesday for their only performance in the Canary Islands this summer. The band, led by Marlon and Jackie Jackson, will perform on Wednesday, July 22, at the second edition of La Carpa 2026, the festival organised by DN7 Music in the municipality of Pájara.
A delegation of more than 20 people, headed by the two Jackson brothers, was welcomed by David Navarro, owner of DN7 Music and promoter of the event. The musicians were visibly excited to set foot on the island for the first time and promised “a great recital” featuring the classics that made them legends.
A repertoire of anthems that marked an era
Marlon Jackson assured that they will perform “all the songs that you made number one for us,” referring to hits like 'ABC', 'I Want You Back' and 'I'll Be There'. The performance coincides with the release of the film 'Michael', about the life of his brother Michael Jackson, which has been a worldwide box office success.
For Canarian fans, this is a unique opportunity to see live a band that made history in music. The last time The Jacksons performed in the Archipelago was in 2018 in Tenerife, so their return is generating enormous anticipation.
La Carpa 2026: 17 nights of music in Jandía
The concert is part of La Carpa 2026, held at Playa de Sotavento in Jandía, coinciding with the 38th World Windsurfing and Wingfoil Championship. The venue has a capacity of 4,500 people and the festival is establishing itself as the musical highlight of the summer in the Canaries.
David Navarro highlighted that “bringing the Jacksons to Fuerteventura has been a challenge” and that the lineup is “on par with the best international events.” La Carpa offers 17 consecutive nights of music, from July 16 to August 1, with a varied programme that includes everything from salsa to electronic music.
Following The Jacksons' performance, the festival continues with artists such as Wade, Huey Dunbar (voice of DLG), Omega, and will close on August 1 with DJ Candy Boy, the official DJ of Yandel. Some nights are free, such as the Beefeater London Party on Sunday the 26th or the Latin Night on Monday the 27th.
Tickets and how to attend
Tickets for The Jacksons' concert and other paid events are available on the website tureservaonline.es, as well as physically at Oasis Wildlife (La Lajita) and at the Bocafé café in the Las Rotondas Shopping Centre. Prices vary depending on the night and how far in advance they are purchased, so it is recommended to buy them in advance.
The festival is supported by the Pájara City Council, the Fuerteventura Cabildo, the Government of the Canary Islands, and other entities. For residents and tourists on the island, this is an exceptional occasion to enjoy a band that made history and, after more than 50 years in the business, continues to demonstrate that music has no age.
