The second edition of the Summer Games brought together more than 400 participants in Arguineguín, with 24 teams and nine challenges in locations such as El Perchel beach. The municipality of Mogán has once again demonstrated its ability to organise events that combine sport, humour, and community. The second edition of The Summer Games, held last weekend in Arguineguín, gathered over 400 people distributed across 24 teams, an increase from the 20 in the first edition. The challenges took place in iconic spaces like El Perchel beach and Las Marañuelas square, turning the coastal town into a vibrant stage.
A parade kicks off the event
On Friday, July 17, a spectacular parade from Pérez Galdós square inaugurated the first day. The teams, eager to have fun and test themselves, walked through the streets of Arguineguín before starting the competitions. The organisation was managed by EVENSUR Events and Productions, with the support of the Mogán Town Hall, which aimed to offer a renewed experience compared to 2025.
Among the new features, five completely new challenges stood out. 'The Galloping Unicorn' required a pair to advance on horseback to pop balloons with a unicorn horn, while 'The Floor is Lava' challenged participants to move without touching the ground. Others like 'The Tower of Colours' and 'The Catapult of Blowpipes' added doses of balance and controlled chaos.
A hilarious finale with 'The Bowls'
The final challenge, 'The Bowls', took place on the night of Saturday, July 18, and elicited laughter from both participants and the audience. The award ceremony capped off two days of community spirit. The increase in teams, from 20 to 24, was a success, according to the organisers, given the great response from residents and neighbours from other parts of the island. Participation confirms that the Summer Games have established themselves as an unmissable event during the Carmen Festival.
The Summer Games Kids, a new feature for the little ones
This year, for the first time, The Summer Games Kids arrives, an adapted version for young audiences. It will take place on Saturday, July 25, at the Mogán Football Field, also as part of the Carmen Festival. 10 teams of up to 12 members will participate, with at least four children aged 6 to 11 and another four teenagers aged 12 to 17 or adults over 18. The competition will feature six challenges, and the registration period is now closed.
For the residents of Mogán, this initiative represents an opportunity for family and sports leisure during the summer. Attendees will be able to enjoy a festive atmosphere in a safe environment suitable for all ages. The event is set for next Saturday starting at 10:00 in the municipal football field.
