The Town Hall of Santa Lucía de Tirajana, alongside sports clubs, has presented a comprehensive programme for the 2026 Summer Sports Camps, featuring activities for children and young people aged 3 to 17 that include sports, artistic workshops, and recycling.

The summer camps in Santa Lucía de Tirajana kick off with an offering that spans from June to August. The initiative, driven by the council and various sports entities, aims to provide the youngest a healthy leisure alternative during school holidays. Activities take place in municipal facilities such as the Municipal Pavilion of the Union, the Municipal Athletics Stadium, and the football fields of La Madera, Adolfo Gopar-Las Palmitas, Juanito Luján, and Vecindario.

Swimming, athletics, and racket sports

Swimming takes on a special role with the camps of the Sacoa Swimming Club and the Salinas Santa Lucía Swimming Club. These programmes combine sports practice with workshops, excursions, and academic support, offering a comprehensive experience. The UAVA Sports Club, on the other hand, focuses its camp on athletics, with complementary and recreational activities.

Fans of racket sports and skating have their space with the Universal Tennis Club and the Aliart Skating Club. Their camps include games and various sports disciplines, as well as workshops and recreational activities. The mayor, Francisco García, highlighted that "these camps facilitate work-life balance for parents who work in the summer."

Football and basketball, the kings of summer

Football will be one of the main attractions with the camps organised by CF Casa Pastores, Estrella CF, CD San Pedro Mártir, CD Vecinklubf, and CD Cerruda. These programmes include technical training, tournaments, and water activities, as well as talks with football players. CD Suresanta, for its part, offers a camp specialised in basketball, complemented with recreational proposals.

The councillor for Physical Activity and Sports, Julio Ojeda, noted that "this summer we are once again offering a wide range to promote healthy habits among the youth of the municipality." Most of the camps take place in municipal sports facilities and offer flexible hours and early pick-up services.

Registrations and more information

Interested parties can check the registration deadlines, prices, and specific conditions for each camp on the social media and websites of the Municipal Athenaeum and the sports clubs. The offering also includes artistic workshops, recycling, and road safety education, ensuring a varied and enriching experience for the young people of Santa Lucía de Tirajana.
