The Severo Rodríguez pavilion in Los Llanos de Aridane will host the sixth edition of La Palma Boxing Promotion on August 8, featuring 11 fights and the main event of local fighter Tato Primera against Romanian Alexandru-Adrian.
On August 8, the Severo Rodríguez pavilion in Los Llanos de Aridane will be dressed for the VI La Palma Boxing Promotion, an event that will bring together eleven boxing matches, with the main attraction being the international professional bout between local fighter Tato Primera and Romanian Alexandru-Adrian.
A high-profile card for a historic night
The evening, organised by the Club CFC La Palma, will feature nine elite category fights, one youth category fight, and the main event: the international professional bout. Tato Primera, also known as José Antonio Martín Reis, is the promoter of the event and one of the island's most prominent boxers. His opponent, Alexandru-Adrian, arrives with a wealth of ring experience that promises a closely contested match.
The event is sponsored by the Sports Department of the Cabildo Insular de La Palma, the Town Hall of Los Llanos de Aridane, the Canary Boxing Federation, and the Trocadero Shopping Centre, among other entities. The entertainment will be provided by DJ Capote and presenter Estrella Hernández, who will liven up a night that promises to be unforgettable for contact sports enthusiasts.
Boxing, a growing discipline in La Palma
Primera emphasised that the event is the result of ongoing efforts to promote boxing on the island:
“This is the sixth time we have been able to celebrate this showcase of local talent, where one can appreciate the school we are creating, both from the Club CFC La Palma and the other entities contributing to making boxing a fixture in the island's sports calendar.”The promoter explained that the project started as a touring circuit:
“We were the pioneers and we continue to be in the spotlight. Our goal is to reach every corner of La Palma and raise awareness of this noble sport, which was practically unknown on the island just a few years ago and has now become an emerging activity.”Additionally, he highlighted the social value of boxing:
“There are boys and girls who, through this discipline, manage to channel, work on, and manage, emotionally, various personal and family situations. That is the small contribution we want to make.”

Those interested in attending can purchase their tickets in advance for 15 euros through the TomaTicket.es platform, as well as at authorised sales points: the BP gas station in Los Llanos de Aridane, the Trocadero Kiosk, and local clubs and boxers. Those who prefer to buy them on the day of the event at the pavilion box office can do so from 18:00 for a price of 20 euros. The doors will open at 18:00, and the show is expected to start shortly after.
