SD Tenisca lost 0-2 to CD Tenerife B at Estadio Virgen de Las Nieves in their first pre-season match. Coach Franru López praised the team's effort.
SD Tenisca played their first pre-season fixture against CD Tenerife B on Saturday, July 26, at Estadio Virgen de Las Nieves, in Santa Cruz de La Palma. The match, held at 17:30, ended with a 0-2 victory for the visiting team.
The Tenerife B team took an early lead. In the 6th minute, after several rebounds inside the home team's area, CD Tenerife B scored to make it 0-1. Four minutes later, in the 10th minute, the second goal arrived. Goalkeeper Kilian made a notable save, but the rebound was seized by the visiting team to score the 0-2.
After the match, SD Tenisca's coach, Franru López, gave a positive assessment of his team's performance. The coach noted that the sensations were good in a match that served to accumulate minutes and assess the group's condition after a week and a half of preparation. He also explained that one of the main objectives was to maintain good defensive order when out of possession and prevent the opponent from finding spaces through the centre. He acknowledged that set-piece actions had not yet been worked on, although he expressed satisfaction with the performance of his players.
SD Tenisca started the match with Kilian, Antonio Samuel, Riki, Enrique, Dioni, Omar, Aarón, Tunte, Angelito, Agoney, and Alexis Zerené. As the minutes passed, the team tried to reduce the deficit on the scoreboard. In the 31st minute, the team created several set-piece opportunities, but failed to convert any of them into goals.
The second half saw few chances for both teams. In the 80th minute, the white team continued to search for a goal that would allow them to close the gap, but the score remained unchanged.
With the final whistle, SD Tenisca concluded their first pre-season test and is now focusing on their next commitment, which will take place next Saturday, August 1, at 18:30, against Atlético Paso.
