San Ginés Obispo parish has opened the registration period for the IV Emmaus Women's Retreat, which will take place from October 2 to 4 at the Nazareth Spirituality House. The initiative offers a weekend of prayer and personal reflection.

San Ginés Obispo parish, in Arrecife, has launched the fourth edition of its Emmaus Women's Retreat, a spiritual event that will occur on October 2, 3, and 4, 2026. The gathering will take place at the Nazareth Spirituality House, a venue located on the island of Lanzarote, and promises to be a weekend of self-discovery and connection with God.

A Retreat Inspired by the Gospel

The programme is inspired by the biblical account of the disciples of Emmaus (Luke 24:13-35), which narrates how two travellers recognise Jesus as he breaks the bread. The idea is to provide participants with time to pause, reflect, and rediscover the divine presence in their lives. According to the organisers, this is an opportunity to view one's life in a new light and connect with faith.

The retreat will begin on Friday, October 2, between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM, and will conclude on Sunday, October 4, with a closing Eucharist at 5:30 PM at the church of San Ginés Obispo in Arrecife. Attendees will be able to enjoy an atmosphere of silence, prayer, and fellowship.

Cost and Registration Process

Participation costs 120 euros, which covers the entire retreat, including accommodation and meals. Interested individuals must fill out a registration form in advance and wait for confirmation from the organising team before making payment. The parish recommends not delaying, as spaces are limited.

For any questions, one can contact via email at emaussangines@gmail.com or with the retreat coordinators. The organisation especially encourages women seeking a break from their routine to experience this retreat. "Emmaus is a spiritual retreat that brings you closer to the Lord, your family, your friends, and your own inner self," they state in the announcement.

An Appointment with Spirituality in Lanzarote

The Nazareth Spirituality House in Lanzarote is the chosen venue for this fourth edition. It is a peaceful place, away from the hustle and bustle, ideal for reflection. The initiative, which began a few years ago, has established itself as a fixed date on the calendar of San Ginés parish, attracting women from various parts of the island and beyond.

The retreat not only aims for spiritual growth but also to create community among participants. The organisers highlight that, in addition to moments of prayer, there will be space for dialogue and sharing experiences. Those who have participated in previous editions praise the warm atmosphere and the opportunity to disconnect from daily life.

For those interested, the registration period is already open. The recommendation is not to wait until the last moment, as spaces tend to fill up in advance. The event is from October 2 to 4 and promises to be a weekend of inner renewal in the heart of Lanzarote.
