The competitive team from Auria Badminton Club returned from San Sebastián de La Gomera with a haul of eight medals after the TOP TTR, the first ranking tournament held on the island. The young athletes demonstrated exceptional skill, with Álvaro Guadalupe and Vera García standing out, both climbing to the top of the podium twice.

Absolute Dominance in Under-13 Categories

In the men's under-13 category, Álvaro Guadalupe was crowned champion after defeating Eduardo Jesús González (21-15, 21-14) and his teammate Aitami Fernández (21-12, 21-17) in the group stage. The latter secured the silver medal by beating González (21-7, 21-9).

In the women's under-13 category, Vera García was the clear dominator. The Auria player won in the group stage against Elena Thihoa Gutiérrez (21-6, 21-4) and Nara Morales (21-7, 21-2). In the semifinals, she overcame Julieta López (21-4, 21-8) and in the final defeated Gretta Hernández (21-10, 22-20).

In the doubles category, the club added two more golds. Álvaro Guadalupe and Vera García triumphed in the mixed doubles under-13 against the pairs Mateo Velázquez-Gara López (21-8, 21-9) and Lukas Santos-Elena Thihoa Gutiérrez (21-4, 21-2). In the men's under-13 doubles, Aitami Fernández, partnering with Manuel Cabrera (Lanzarote Raqueta Club), defeated Hugo de la Paz Paradas-Lukas Santos (21-9, 21-8) and Eduardo José González-Francisco José González (21-10, 21-19).

The medal tally was completed with two bronzes in doubles: one won by Hugo de la Paz Paradas alongside Lukas Santos (CB Tiguaneje) in under-13, and the other by Adrián Carabali with Marcos Mariscal (Club Deportivo Pajaritos) in under-19.

For badminton fans in Lanzarote, these results are a source of pride and demonstrate the excellent work of the Auria Badminton Club's youth programme. The next qualifying tournament will take place in the coming weeks, where the young talents will seek to continue accumulating points for the national ranking.
