Lanzarote Cabildo has extended the reservation period for the Papagayo camping area in the municipality of Yaiza until October 4. The site has 260 pitches for caravans and tents.
Those interested in camping in the Los Ajaches Natural Monument in southern Lanzarote now have more time to secure a pitch. The island's Cabildo has decided to extend the reservation deadline for the Papagayo camping area until October 4, as reported by the Camping Councillor, Samuel Martín.
The digital management of reservations is functioning smoothly, as highlighted by Martín, which has allowed for the extension without system crashes. The campsite, located in the municipality of Yaiza, is one of the most sought after on the island due to its protected environment and proximity to the Papagayo beaches.
The site has 260 pitches organised in different categories: for caravans, large cabins, and small cabins. Additionally, there are accessible pitches for people with reduced mobility, located near the facilities, and areas designated for pets, although with restrictions. Animals are only allowed in authorised pitches and must be kept on a lead at all times, with access to the beach prohibited.
The campsite offers two types of stays: long, for reservations of five days or more, and short, for up to four days, with a minimum reservation of two days. Among the facilities, users will find fully adapted bathroom modules, indoor and outdoor showers, sinks, potable water supply points for filling tanks, individual drainage connections for wastewater at each pitch, and an external tank for black water.
The area also features communal night lighting, electrical connections available at the pitches from 10:00 to 23:00, 24-hour surveillance, a wheelchair-accessible ramp to the beach, and designated barbecue areas.
The Cabildo recommends that interested parties check the updated information on the official website before making a reservation to learn about conditions and availability. For any inquiries, the public can contact the helpline at 828 181 555, Monday to Friday from 12:00 to 14:00, or through the website acampadapapagayo.com and the email address reservas@acampadapapagayo.com.
This extension of the deadline aims to facilitate autumn holiday planning for residents and visitors in a natural setting of high landscape value. The Papagayo camping area has become an increasingly popular option for those wishing to enjoy the protected environment of Los Ajaches with all the comforts.
