The Yaiza Town Hall has unveiled the official programme for the Playa Blanca Festival 2026, which includes over 30 activities ranging from concerts, sports events, and traditional acts from July 10 to 20.
The Yaiza Town Hall presented this morning the official programme for the Playa Blanca Festival 2026, an event that brings together thousands of locals and tourists each year in the south of Lanzarote. The celebration, which will run from July 10 to 20, will feature more than thirty events that combine tradition, music, and leisure for all audiences.
Concerts and popular festivities as the main attraction
One of the major highlights of this edition will be the musical programme. The lineup includes performances from local and national groups, with special attention to the Canarian orchestras and DJs who will liven up the nights in the town square. According to municipal sources, the aim is to provide a varied offer that satisfies both residents and visitors.
The popular festivities will once again be the centre of fun, with live music every night starting at 21:00. The Town Hall has confirmed that tents will be set up to protect against the wind, a detail that attendees will appreciate in such an exposed area as Playa Blanca.
Traditional and sports events
The festival does not forget its roots. The programme includes the traditional maritime procession in honour of the Virgen del Carmen, patron saint of fishermen, which will take place on July 16. Decorated boats will depart from the marina at 18:00, in an event that gathers hundreds of faithful and curious onlookers each year.
In the sports arena, beach football and volleyball tournaments have been organised, as well as a popular 5-kilometre race that will run along the promenade. Registration is free and can be done at the municipal sports facilities until July 8.
The paella competition and the craft fair complete the daytime leisure offerings, ideal for families. The little ones will have their space with bouncy castles, workshops, and a children's scavenger hunt scheduled for Sunday, July 12.
Impact on the municipality and recommendations
The celebration of these festivities represents an important economic boost for Playa Blanca. Hotels and restaurants in the area are already reporting an increase in bookings for those dates, according to data from the local merchants' association. The Town Hall recommends that attendees use public transport or the designated parking areas on the outskirts of the urban centre to avoid congestion.
The mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, has highlighted that the programme has been designed with the aim of "keeping our traditions alive while offering quality leisure that attracts visitors." Noda has encouraged all Lanzarote residents to participate in a festival that, he assures, "is a reflection of our town's hospitality."
The budget allocated for the festivities amounts to 150,000 euros, a figure similar to that of the previous year. Residents can consult the complete programme on the municipal website and at tourist information points. The festivities will conclude on July 20 with a grand finale and a performance by a nationally renowned orchestra, the name of which will remain a secret until the last moment.
