Costa Adeje Tenerife will face RCD Espanyol on July 29 at the Municipal Stadium of Los Pozos, in a match that marks the debut of the top tier of women's football in Fuerteventura.

Elite women's football arrives for the first time in Fuerteventura. The Costa Adeje Tenerife, a Tenerife team in Liga F, will play an official match against RCD Espanyol on July 29 at the Municipal Stadium of Los Pozos, in Puerto del Rosario. A milestone that turns the island into a stage for the top tier of Spanish women's football.

A match that marks a turning point

The match, scheduled for 18:15 hours, is not just any friendly. It is a commitment to Liga F, the elite of women's football in Spain, which is being played for the first time on Majorcan soil. This event has been made possible thanks to the organisation of Coral Hotels, which has committed to bringing high-level sport to the island.

The Tenerife team, competing at the highest level, will face an Espanyol team that is also looking to establish itself in the upper part of the table. For Costa Adeje Tenerife, this match represents an opportunity to bring women's football closer to a fanbase that rarely has the chance to see Liga F teams live.

The initiative has received support from the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, the Foundation of the Inter-Island Football Federation of Las Palmas (FIFLP), the Town Hall of La Oliva, and the Town Hall of Puerto del Rosario. All have worked together to make this event a reality.

Coral Cotillo Beach, the team's headquarters

During the week leading up to the match, Coral Cotillo Beach will become the operations centre for Costa Adeje Tenerife. The hotel, located in the town of El Cotillo, will host the team's official training sessions in its state-of-the-art sports facilities.

The Tenerife players will prepare thoroughly for the match, in an environment that combines high performance with the privileged climate of Fuerteventura. The concentration will allow the team to finalise tactical and physical details before facing the Catalan side.

But the initiative goes beyond the match. Coral Hotels and Costa Adeje Tenerife have organised a free football clinic for girls on the island, aimed at promoting grassroots sports and equal opportunities.

40 girls will train with their idols

On July 30 and 31, from 16:00 to 20:00 hours, the football field in El Cotillo will host technical sessions led by the Costa Adeje Tenerife players themselves. Registrations are already open, offering 40 free spots for girls aged between 6 and 16 years.

The lucky ones will be able to train alongside their role models, learn from their experience, and enjoy a unique experience. An opportunity that, according to the organisers, aims to boost young talent in women's football in Fuerteventura and inspire sporting vocations.

Spots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis via the form provided by the Tenerife Costa Adeje Foundation. The activity is completely free, thanks to the sponsorship of Coral Hotels and the collaboration of local institutions.

For the girls from Majorca, sharing the pitch with Liga F players is something unusual. And for Costa Adeje Tenerife, it's a way to give back to the fans the support they receive throughout the season. The match on July 29 will not only be historic for the scoreline but for what it represents: elite women's football, finally, in Fuerteventura.
