Candelaria Town Hall has secured a grant of €45,230.64 from the Canary Employment Service to hire two young people under 30 with no prior experience.
Candelaria Town Hall has obtained a grant of €45,230.64 from the Canary Employment Service to launch the project ‘Candelaria Contigo: Your first work experience in Candelaria 2027’. This initiative, which is being granted for the third time, will allow for the hiring of two young people under 30 who have recently graduated in the Intermediate Degree in Administrative Management or equivalent, and who lack prior work experience.
The contracts will be formalised under the training contract modality to obtain professional practice appropriate to the level of studies completed. They will last for twelve months, during which the selected candidates will be able to gain the necessary experience to improve their chances of subsequently accessing employment in the job market, applying in a real environment the knowledge acquired during their training.
The mayor of Candelaria, Mari Brito, has positively assessed the granting of this subsidy. “The lack of experience remains one of the main barriers faced by our young people when they finish their studies and want to start working. With projects like this, we give them that first opportunity, which often makes a difference, and we do it from the Town Hall itself, supporting them at the start of their professional careers,” she stated.
Brito highlighted that “having two young people from Candelaria able to train and gain experience for a year in their municipality is excellent news.” With this action, the City Council continues its line of work in employment and training, aimed at promoting the labour insertion of the young population in the municipality and strengthening their future opportunities.
The ‘Candelaria Contigo’ project is part of the active employment policies of the Canary Employment Service, which seek to reduce the youth unemployment rate in the Islands. In Candelaria, this initiative has already allowed several young people in previous editions to complete their first year of work experience in the Town Hall itself, facilitating their subsequent insertion into the job market.
Those interested in applying for these positions must be registered with the Canary Employment Service and meet the requirements set out in the announcement, which will be published soon in the Official Bulletin of the Province and on the municipal website.
