The Mogán City Council is organising a gastro-photographic experience on August 12 in Arguineguín, where photographers can capture dishes before tasting them. The images will be published on August 19.
The Gran Canaria municipality of Mogán is preparing to celebrate International Photography Day with an original proposal that combines two arts: gastronomy and imagery. On August 12, the Municipal Training Centre of Las Marañuelas, in Arguineguín, will host a gastro-photographic experience where participants can photograph various culinary creations before tasting them.
The initiative, driven by the Equality Department led by Minerva Oliva, aims to be a meeting point for photography enthusiasts and professionals. According to the councillor, it is about sharing knowledge and discovering the different perspectives from which the same dish can be interpreted and portrayed, highlighting creativity and technique.
The culinary creations will be prepared and served by the students-workers of the Employment Alternating Training Programme (PFAE) in Restoration, who will be responsible for the dishes. In this way, the activity also serves to showcase the work of the participants in this training programme.
The event will start at 18:00 hours. Interested individuals must register in advance, as places are limited. Oliva has pointed out that the activity is open to both professional and amateur photographers, and participation can be with either a DSLR camera or a mobile phone.
“We want to invite everyone who wishes to be part of this experience to register and enjoy with us. It will be an afternoon to share, learn, and discover. It’s not just about sitting down to eat, but about valuing the work of the PFAE students-workers, capturing a glance, a flavour, a gesture…,” the councillor stated.
The photographs resulting from the experience will be published on the Mogán City Council's social media on August 19, coinciding with the celebration of International Photography Day. Additionally, a photography session will be raffled among all participants.
The registration period will remain open from July 27 to August 7, both inclusive, from 8:00 to 13:00 hours. To register, it is necessary to call 928 15 88 00, extension 5142. Each participant may bring a guest.
