The Recinto Ferial in Santa Cruz de Tenerife will host the first edition of Summer Pop Tenerife on September 13, featuring Leire Martínez, Lucho RK, and the return of Locoplaya as the main attractions.

The capital of Tenerife is preparing to host a new music festival. The first edition of Summer Pop Tenerife will take place on September 13 at the Recinto Ferial in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, starting at 16:00. The event will bring together a dozen artists and bands, with a lineup that combines pop, urban music, and local talent.

The highlight of the day will be the performance by Leire Martínez, former vocalist of La Oreja de Van Gogh, who is presenting her solo career. The singer has recently released her album "Historias de aquella niña" and has singles like "Cuando te quieras marchar," a collaboration with Pole. For attendees of Summer Pop, it will be a unique opportunity to see her live in a more intimate setting than the large festivals where she is also performing this summer, such as the BigSound Festival in Torrevieja (July 26) and Arenal Sound in Burriana (from July 30 to August 2).

Alongside her, the festival embraces urban music with the presence of Dellacruz and, notably, a strong representation from the Canary Islands. Gran Canarian Lucho RK, known for his fresh style and catchy lyrics, will be one of the standout names of the afternoon. Locoplaya, the group formed by Bejo, Don Patricio, and Uge, will also reunite on stage to offer their unique blend of urban and Canarian rhythms. Completing the island representation is Gran Canarian producer Danny Romero.

The lineup is rounded out by Álvaro de Luna, who presents his new work "Azulejos"; Lewis Potter; the duo Playacoco; the band Postcode; the versatile Mel Ömana; and emerging voices Melania and Fátima Falcón. A varied roster that promises to liven up the Saturday afternoon and evening at the Recinto Ferial.

Summer Pop Tenerife is sponsored by the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, the General Directorate of Youth of the Government of the Canary Islands, Baleària Canarias, Heineken, Coca-Cola, Autolaca Canarias, Click and Roll, and LOS40. The institutional and business collaboration underscores the commitment to energising the cultural and leisure offerings in the capital of Tenerife.

For the residents of Santa Cruz and the rest of the island, the festival presents an attractive plan as summer comes to a close. Tickets are already on sale, although the organisation has not detailed prices or official sales points. Interested parties are advised to keep an eye on the event's social media for all the details.

With this initiative, Santa Cruz de Tenerife adds a new festival to its summer calendar, establishing itself as a hub for musical events. The event on September 13 promises to be a grand finale for the summer on the island.
