The multinational Applus+ has inaugurated an ITV station in the Díaz Casanova Industrial Estate, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The facility has three inspection lines and has generated 18 direct jobs.

Applus+ has launched a new Technical Vehicle Inspection (ITV) station in the Díaz Casanova Industrial Estate - Vista Hermosa of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, specifically at Calle Managua number 4. The facility, which is already operational, strengthens the company's presence in the Canary archipelago.

Over 700,000 inspections a year in the Canary Islands

With this opening, Applus+ now has 12 ITV stations in the Canary Islands: four in Gran Canaria and eight in Tenerife. The group's workforce in the islands exceeds 300 professionals. Over the past year, the company has conducted more than 700,000 inspections in the archipelago, consolidating its position as a key operator in road safety and environmental protection.

The new station is equipped with three state-of-the-art inspection lines, designed to streamline the process and reduce waiting times. The spaces have been adapted to provide comfort to users, with improved waiting areas and an optimized workflow.

Employment and commitment to the customer

The opening has generated 18 direct jobs, a positive news for the local economy in a recovery context. Aurelio Espinosa, head of Applus+ Iteuve in the Canary Islands, stated: “With this opening, we maintain our strong commitment to the ITV service in the Canary Islands. We offer the most advanced and well-located facilities with a clear goal: to make customer satisfaction the centre of all our professional activity.”

Applus+ is the second largest global operator in vehicle inspections, with over 13 million inspections annually worldwide. The company collaborates with public institutions to improve the vehicle fleet and promote sustainability.

For drivers in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, this new ITV represents a closer and more modern alternative. The opening hours are Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 20:30 and Saturdays from 08:00 to 13:30, allowing for different schedules. The location in the industrial estate facilitates access from various points in the city.

In short, Applus+ reinforces its commitment to the Canary Islands with a facility that aims to make a mandatory process easier for all drivers. And who knows, perhaps the next time an ITV is due, the new centre in Díaz Casanova will be the quickest and most convenient option.
