The company Applus+ has launched an ITV station in the Polígono Díaz Casanova, with three inspection lines and extended hours from Monday to Saturday.

Drivers in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria now have a new option for their ITV. Applus+ has inaugurated a station at Calle Managua, 4, within the Polígono Industrial Díaz Casanova - Vista Hermosa, a well-connected area that facilitates access for both individuals and company fleets.

The facility features three state-of-the-art inspection lines, designed to streamline vehicle flow and reduce waiting times. The company has invested in modern equipment that allows for precise checks of braking systems, steering, suspension, lighting, tyres, and emissions, among other mandatory elements.

Extended hours and 18 jobs

The station opens from Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 20:30, and Saturdays from 08:00 to 13:30, a schedule aimed at accommodating drivers' agendas. With this opening, Applus+ has created 18 direct jobs, raising its workforce in the Canary Islands to over 300 professionals.

The company now operates 12 ITV stations in the archipelago: four in Gran Canaria and eight in Tenerife. Over the past year, Applus+ has conducted over 700,000 inspections in the islands, solidifying its position as one of the main service operators.

We offer the most advanced and best-located facilities with a clear goal: to ensure customer satisfaction is at the centre of all our professional activity, said Aurelio Espinosa, head of Applus+ Iteuve in the Canary Islands.

A mandatory procedure with an impact on safety

The ITV is a legal requirement that ensures vehicles are in safe technical conditions. The new station aims to alleviate the existing network in the Gran Canaria capital, where demand has increased in recent years. For local residents, having a centre in the industrial estate avoids trips to other areas of the island.

Proper maintenance of the vehicle fleet has a direct effect on road safety and the reduction of pollutant emissions. Applus+ reminds that it is important to check the expiry date of the ITV and not to wait until the last moment to book an appointment, as stations tend to experience higher traffic during the summer months.

Interested parties can book an appointment through the Applus+ website or by calling the customer service number. The company recommends bringing the vehicle documentation and checking that basic elements (lights, tyres, brakes) are functioning correctly before the inspection.
