AEMET has activated a yellow alert for heat in the province of Las Palmas, but the Gran Canaria capital is exempt. On Sunday, temperatures will range between 22 and 26 degrees, with cloudy skies in the morning.

The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has issued a yellow alert for maximum temperatures in the province of Las Palmas for this Sunday, but the Gran Canaria capital will not be affected. According to the forecast, the day will start with cloudy skies until 06:00, giving way to clear intervals during the morning and afternoon, and ending with little cloud cover.

Maximums of 26 degrees and north wind

Temperatures will remain similar to those on Saturday, with a peak of 26 degrees expected at 19:00 and a minimum of 22 degrees at 08:00. The wind will blow from the north, with no strong gusts to disrupt the day. For the residents of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, it will be an ideal day to enjoy the beach or take a walk outdoors, always with sun protection.

Monday and Tuesday: sun and rising heat

Monday will continue the trend of stable weather, with a slightly cloudy outlook and maximum temperatures of 25 degrees, while the minimum will remain at 22 degrees, although the thermal sensation could reach 27. The light north winds will not provide relief from the heat.

“Tuesday will be the hottest day of the week, with maximums exceeding 29 degrees,” warns AEMET.

That day the sky will be completely clear and the north breezes will be light, which will increase the feeling of mugginess. Those with outdoor plans should stay well hydrated and seek shade during the peak hours.

The data, prepared by AEMET, is provisional and may be updated. Residents of the capital can check the updated forecasts on the meteorological agency's website.
