The Punto Joven in Teror will host the third session of the Canary Film Cycle this Friday, July 31, featuring four short films by young filmmakers from the archipelago. Entry is free with prior registration.
The Punto Joven in Teror will become the stage for the third session of the Canary Film Cycle this Friday, July 31, an initiative that promotes audiovisual production from the archipelago. Starting at 20:30, four short films made by young Canary filmmakers will be screened in a free activity aimed at young people aged 14 to 30.
The session includes the shorts 'Qué gigantes', by Juan Lorenzo Domínguez; 'La isla errante', by Pablo Borges; 'Tomates canarios', by Arima León; and 'Un hogar', by Mario Oliva and Elisa Martín. Additionally, a collective creation from the Experimental Short Film Workshop: Video and Painting, which highlights the creativity of the participants, will also be screened.
This activity is part of the healthy night leisure programme 'Proyecto NOA', funded by the Education and Youth Department of the Gran Canaria Cabildo and in collaboration with the Youth Department of the Teror City Council. The aim is to provide the island's youth with real, accessible, and healthy leisure alternatives during the evening hours.
The 'Proyecto NOA' has been developing in Gran Canaria for several years and this year has expanded its network of municipalities to include Teror. The initiative aims to promote alternative leisure activities away from harmful habits, fostering culture and creativity among young people.
Registration for this Friday's session is free and must be done through the portal juventud.teror.es. Capacity is limited, so it is recommended to reserve a spot in advance.
Additionally, the 'Proyecto NOA' has scheduled a cinema outing for the youth of Teror on August 6, with transport included and also free of charge. The film to be screened will be announced soon, and registrations are already open on the same website.
This initiative represents an opportunity for young people from Teror and other municipalities on the island to enjoy quality Canary cinema, learn about the work of new filmmakers, and participate in healthy leisure activities during the summer nights.
The Teror City Council, through its Youth Department, supports such programmes that offer educational and cultural leisure alternatives, contributing to the personal and social development of the municipality's youth.
