The enrolment period for the workshops at the Popular University of Teror begins on August 3 and extends until August 14. The offer includes six disciplines and the novelty of direct debit for quarterly payments.
The Popular University of Teror will start the enrolment period for the 2026-2027 course next Monday, August 3, which will last until Friday, August 14. Registration will be conducted exclusively through an online form that will be activated at 9:00 AM on the first day of the enrolment period, as reported by the municipal department led by councillor Angharad Quintana.
The educational offer remains the same as in previous years with six workshops: Oil Painting, Patchwork, Sewing and Tailoring, Furniture Restoration, Yoga, and Crochet. Classes are expected to begin in October, and those accepted will receive a notification via email in mid-September to confirm their assigned place.
As a main novelty for this course, students will be able to set up direct debit for the quarterly fee through the financial entity VALORA, simplifying the payment process. The cost remains unchanged: a one-time enrolment fee of 3 euros and 27 euros per quarter. Thus, the first payment amounts to 30 euros (3 for enrolment plus 27 for the first quarter), and subsequent payments will be 27 euros every three months.
Direct debit payments will be made on the following approximate dates: the first quarter (October-December) around December 31, 2026; the second (January-March) around April 1, 2027; and the third (April-June) around July 1, 2027. For those who do not opt for direct debit, the paper receipt can be paid at banking institutions according to VALORA's schedule.
The enrolment process has been simplified compared to previous editions: there is no need for a digital certificate, nor to submit the application in person at municipal offices, nor to process it through the electronic headquarters. It is enough to fill out the online form, accessible from both computers and mobile devices, selecting the desired workshop or workshops and the main schedule, with the option to indicate a second time preference.
The workshop schedules are varied to accommodate different availabilities. Yoga is taught four days a week in morning and afternoon shifts, with sessions lasting 1.5 hours. Sewing and Tailoring offers nine different schedules, from Monday to Thursday, both in the morning and afternoon, lasting three hours. Oil Painting is concentrated on Mondays and Thursdays, also in three-hour sessions. Crochet is spread across Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, with afternoon shifts. Patchwork has schedules on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. And Furniture Restoration has nine time options, from Monday to Thursday, in morning and afternoon shifts.
Councillor Angharad Quintana has highlighted that, in addition to the annual offer, specific activities will be scheduled throughout the course based on student demand. She also reminded that in the form, one can request enrolment in all desired workshops, and if there are no available places in either the main schedule or the second option, the applicant will automatically be placed on a waiting list. If vacancies arise during the course or new groups can be created, those on the waiting list will be contacted to offer them a place in the following quarter.
It is mandatory that the contact details (phone and email) provided in the enrolment correspond to the student, to ensure direct communication. Confirmation of the place will be communicated by phone in mid-September.
With this offer, the Teror City Council aims to promote education and active leisure among citizens, maintaining affordable prices and facilitating bureaucratic procedures. Interested individuals can consult all the information on the municipal website starting August 3.
