Plaza de San Roque, in Tinajo, is preparing to host a new edition of 'Flavours of Tinajo' on Friday, August 14, starting at 19:00. This gastronomic experience is organized by the Departments of Commerce and Primary Sector of the Tinajo City Council, as part of the 'Dinamiza Rural' programme of the Government of the Canary Islands and within the programming of the San Roque Festival 2026.
The event, whose slogan is 'a journey to the heart of local flavour', offers a tasting of live cooking and a show cooking focused on zero-kilometre products. The aim is to bridge the gap between the local primary sector and the public, bringing Tinajo's products closer to attendees.
The mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, has encouraged those interested to register, as spaces are limited and tend to fill up quickly. To reserve, it is necessary to call or send a WhatsApp to the number 625568892. Machín has highlighted that this initiative allows people to "enjoy our rich gastronomy, based on local products that help promote the primary sector of our municipality."
The event will include live cooking followed by a tasting, which is expected to delight all present. "Enjoy the event, the delicious cuisine with the flavours of Tinajo, and the San Roque Festival," concluded the mayor.
Flavours of Tinajo joins other projects that the Departments of Commerce and Primary Sector have developed recently around local products, wine, commerce, and landscape. The initiative reinforces the City Council's commitment to promoting the local economy and sustainability.
