The Open Commercial Zone of San Gregorio hosts this Friday the third edition of 'Nights that taste like Telde', with tapas, local wines, and live music in the square of Doña Rafaela.
The Open Commercial Zone of San Gregorio, in Telde, will celebrate this Friday, July 31, the third edition of 'Nights that taste like Telde', a gastronomic and leisure event that will bring together eight establishments and six wineries from Gran Canaria in the square of Doña Rafaela. The event, which will take place from 19:00 to 00:00 hours, aims to energise the commercial area of the municipality and offer a leisure alternative based on local products.
The initiative, organised by the Open Commercial Zone of San Gregorio, has the collaboration of the Telde City Council and the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Innovation and Employment of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria. In the presentation held this morning, participated the mayor of Telde, Juan Antonio Peña; the island councillor Minerva Alonso; the president of the Gran Canaria Chamber of Commerce, Eugenio Sánchez; councillors Nayra Navarro and María Calderín, and the president of the Commercial Zone, Natividad Suárez.
Eight gastronomic establishments will offer a selection of tapas and pinchos made with local products. Among them are Viva Café, Antequera, Oasis Chillout, La Araña, Cafetería Los Erizos, El Que Faltaba, Cafetería El Palmito, and Sin Gluten & Cositas Dulces. The offer is complemented by six wineries from the island: La Higuera Mayor, Hinojo, Señorío de Cabrera, Las Tirajanas, Ventura, and Frontón de Oro, which will allow tasting a wide representation of Gran Canaria wines.
Live music will be provided by the groups Cremita de Coco and Son de la Isla, who will entertain the evening. Mayor Juan Antonio Peña highlighted that “Nights that taste like Telde has become an event that demonstrates our commercial area has much to offer. We want to continue making Telde a leisure choice for our residents and visitors, with proposals that combine our gastronomy, our products, and our culture.” Peña invited all citizens to enjoy this new edition and discover everything the city has to offer.
Councillor Minerva Alonso valued “the importance of continuing to support initiatives that energise commercial areas and generate meeting spaces around local products.” She also emphasised the collaboration between administrations and the business sector to strengthen commercial and gastronomic activity, contributing to making municipalities attractive destinations for residents and visitors.
Natividad Suárez, president of the Open Commercial Zone of San Gregorio, encouraged participation in this third edition and noted that “after the success of the first two events, this initiative is consolidating as one of the major summer events in the commercial area of Telde.” Suárez highlighted the involvement of the establishments and the opportunity to continue bringing life to the square of Doña Rafaela, showcasing the quality of the products and the offerings of the city.
The event aims to expand the gastronomic and leisure offerings of the commercial area, generate meeting spaces, and promote local economic activity. Additionally, it values quality and local products, projecting Telde as a leisure option for both residents and visitors. The City Council invites citizens to participate this Friday in a night of gastronomy, Gran Canaria wines, and live music in the square of Doña Rafaela.
