The Lanzarote Water Consortium approves a new corporate identity for the public service, which will now be called Aguas de Lanzarote y La Graciosa. The initiative includes the launch of a website that will grow progressively.
The Lanzarote Water Consortium approved yesterday in assembly the new corporate identity of the public service, which will henceforth be called Aguas de Lanzarote y La Graciosa. The change, beyond a simple facelift, aims to consolidate a modern public management model that is close to the citizen.
The new brand is not just a logo. According to sources from the Consortium, it represents a new way of understanding an essential service in a land where water has always been a scarce and precious resource. The image incorporates a triangle that symbolizes the volcanic origin of the islands and a wave that evokes water and the historic hydraulic infrastructures, such as alcogidas, maretas, aljibes, or the Famara galleries.
A design inspired by the history of water in Lanzarote
The design of the new identity has been inspired by the very history of water on both islands. For centuries, scarcity forced the development of a culture based on ingenuity, collective effort, and responsible use of a limited resource. This heritage, according to the Consortium, is the foundation upon which this new stage is built.
The resulting graphic symbol merges the island landscape with the culture of water. The triangle represents the volcanic territory, while the wave recalls the infrastructures that for generations allowed the collection, conduction, and conservation of water. A direct nod to the collective memory of the people of Lanzarote and La Graciosa.
With this image, Aguas de Lanzarote y La Graciosa aims to project a modern public organization that is deeply connected to the history of islands that have learned to adapt to their environment. Water, they explain, is an example of culture, responsibility, and collective commitment.
New website to improve citizen attention
Along with the new identity, a website has been launched designed as a space for information and citizen attention. The portal will progressively grow over the coming months, incorporating new services and functionalities. Residents of Lanzarote and La Graciosa will be able to consult procedures, schedules, rates, and news about the service.
The Lanzarote Water Consortium emphasizes that this step is part of a modernization process aimed at bringing the administration closer to the user. The website, they explain, will be a key tool to facilitate the relationship between the citizen and the public water service, an essential resource in the daily lives of all households.
For residents, this change represents an opportunity for more direct and agile contact with the managing entity. It is expected that in the coming months functionalities such as invoice consultation, requests for new connections or disconnections, and an online incident system will be added.
A new model of public management
The new identity is born to accompany the consolidation of the new public management model of the integral water cycle in Lanzarote and La Graciosa. According to the Consortium, it is an essential public service, close to the citizen and committed to the territory. The renewed image seeks to reflect those values.
The name and image change does not imply, for the moment, modifications in rates or in the service structure. Users will continue to receive the same supply of drinking water and sanitation, but with a new face that, according to its promoters, better represents the reality of islands that have made water a symbol of resilience.
The launch of the website and the new identity is already active. Interested parties can access the portal to learn about the service details and upcoming news. The Consortium encourages citizens to visit the page and participate in this transformation process.
