This Friday, July 24, the Cinemas of Lanzarote will premiere four films, including 'Motor City', a revenge thriller set in 1970s Detroit.

Cinema lovers in Lanzarote have a date this Friday, July 24, with the arrival of four new titles on the screens of the Atlántida and Deiland Cinemas. The selection includes action, drama, anime, and a true story of overcoming challenges.

The highlight of the week is 'Motor City', a thriller set in 1970s Detroit. The film follows John Miller, a working-class mechanic who, after falling in love with the girlfriend of a ruthless gangster, is framed and spends years in prison. Upon his release, his only mission is to unleash a whirlwind of revenge to reclaim his life and his partner.

Another notable premiere is 'The American Dream', inspired by a true story. The plot revolves around Jérémy, a clerk at a video store in Amiens, and Bouna, a cleaner at Paris airport. With no money, contacts, and very basic English, both share a passion for basketball and the dream of becoming professional NBA agents.

For anime fans, the remastered re-release of 'Nicky, the Witch Apprentice' arrives, a classic from Studio Ghibli. The story narrates how, following family tradition, all witches must leave home for a year upon turning 13 to fend for themselves and master their craft.

Completing the lineup is 'The Host', set in the mid-1970s on a luxurious private island in the Mediterranean. There, Greek magnate Marcos Timoleon, inspired by the figure of Aristotle Onassis, organizes a spectacular party to celebrate the 25th birthday of his daughter Sofia, the sole heir to his economic empire.
