Lanzarote hotels earned 60 million euros in June, a 12.9% increase from last year, driven by rising rates and an increase in travellers.
Lanzarote hotels closed last June with revenues of 60 million euros, representing a 12.9% increase compared to the same period in 2025, according to data published by the island's Data Centre. This growth is supported by both the improvement in average rates and the increase in the number of tourists accommodated.
The average nightly rate was 133.88 euros, 10.6% higher than the 121.01 euros in June 2025. This price surge has been one of the main drivers of the revenue increase, along with the arrival of 172,740 travellers to the island's hotels, a 4.1% increase from the previous year, which equates to about 6,800 additional tourists.
Overnight stays also experienced growth, although more moderate: 984,581 hotel nights were recorded, 0.8% more than the 976,846 in the same month last year. This increase, combined with the rise in rates, explains the strong advance in revenues.
The average hotel occupancy was 81.37%, slightly lower than the 84.17% in June 2025. However, the Lanzarote Data Centre points out that this decline is not due to lower demand, but rather to an increase in the supply of beds. During June, 42,676 hotel beds were offered, 5.2% more than the 40,583 from the previous year.
Employment in the island's hotel sector also registered a notable advance. The workforce reached 11,007 workers in June, a 14.7% increase from the 9,598 employees in the same month of 2025. This increase reflects the hoteliers' commitment to strengthening teams to meet the rising demand and the expansion of accommodation capacity.
The June data confirms the positive trend of tourism in Lanzarote, which continues to establish itself as one of the preferred destinations in the Canary Islands. The increase in rates and travellers, along with job creation, paints an optimistic picture for the sector heading into the high summer season.
