The La Laguna Town Hall extends the free ‘Bajamar without limits’ programme, aimed at people with disabilities, to August following the success achieved in July with over 20 participants.
The Social Welfare and Quality of Life Department of the La Laguna Town Hall has decided to prolong the ‘Bajamar without limits’ programme throughout August, a free initiative that promotes physical activity and the inclusion of people with disabilities along the Bajamar coastline.
The councillor responsible for the area, María Cruz, explained that the extension responds to the “high level of satisfaction” expressed by the more than 20 users who participated in July. Each day, attendees engage in outdoor exercises at the public pools in Bajamar, supervised by a team of specialised professionals.
The technical team consists of a physiotherapist who acts as coordinator, two monitors, and a support assistant. During July, they designed sessions tailored to the needs of each group, promoting personal autonomy and improving the quality of life of the participants.
The programme, fully funded by the Town Hall, includes adapted transport services from various points in the municipality and special devices to ensure that wheelchair users can safely participate in the aquatic exercises. Activities take place four days a week, from 9:00 to 13:00, divided into two groups.

The initiative aims to encourage an active lifestyle and improve the quality of life for people with disabilities, providing an accessible and cost-free environment for beneficiaries. The extension to August presents an opportunity for more local residents to enjoy this healthy leisure proposal.
