The Cabildo of Lanzarote has tendered the works for the new drinking water distribution network in Camino del Barranco (San Bartolomé), with a budget of 220,000 euros and an execution period of six weeks. The area lacked supply and was serviced by tanker trucks.
The Cabildo of Lanzarote has put out to tender the works to install the drinking water network in Camino del Barranco, in the municipality of San Bartolomé. The project, co-financed by the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN), has a base tender budget of 219,876 euros and an execution period of six weeks.
An agricultural area without basic service
Camino del Barranco is located south of the urban centre of San Bartolomé, in a predominantly agricultural area moving towards Montaña Blanca. Access is via the LZ-302 island road. Until now, residents and farmers in the area lacked connection to the general network, so water supply was carried out by tankers, a precarious and costly solution.
