The Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa has managed the creation of more than a hundred companies and freelancers so far this year, thanks to a service that centralises procedures and now incorporates artificial intelligence.
The Single Business Window (VUE-PAE) service of the Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa has surpassed this year the hundred mark for new companies and freelancers established on the island, according to data provided by the entity itself. The figure, corresponding to the period from January to July 2026, reflects a pace of business creation that consolidates this service as one of the pillars of local entrepreneurship.
The balance, presented this Thursday, highlights that the Single Window acts as a unique contact point for entrepreneurs, unifying administrative processing through the Single Electronic Document (DUE). Thanks to this system, promoters can formalise their registration with the State Tax Agency (model 036), the Canary Islands Tax Agency (model 400), and the Special Regime for Self-Employed Workers (RETA) of Social Security in a single step.
The service, funded by the Government of the Canary Islands and the Cabildo of Lanzarote, is not limited to the initial establishment of the business. The Chamber offers continuous support throughout the life of the company, advising on tax and labour obligations, as well as on current grants. This comprehensive assistance aims to reduce costs and start-up times, two of the main obstacles for new projects.
The councillor for Economic Promotion of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Nori Machín, has positively evaluated these results and emphasised the impact of public-private collaboration. “With these actions, we are supporting entrepreneurs by providing them with more competitive tools and services that strengthen their activity and consolidate public-private relationships,” Machín noted during the presentation of the data.
The institutional coordination between the General Directorate of Promotion and Economic Diversification of the Government of the Canary Islands and the Cabildo of Lanzarote is, according to the Chamber, one of the key factors in understanding the evolution of these figures. Both administrations maintain a close collaboration with the chamber entity to promote self-employment and modernise the productive sectors of Lanzarote and La Graciosa.
The novelty of this year is the incorporation of artificial intelligence into the service for entrepreneurs. This is LEO, a virtual assistant developed by the Ministry of Economy, Industry, Commerce and Self-Employed Workers of the Government of the Canary Islands, which is already available on the public portal Emprender en Canarias and on the Chamber's website. LEO offers personalised attention based on the economic activity the user wishes to develop and their geographical location.
The virtual agent helps predict project needs, reduces uncertainty in management, and connects more agilely with the various levels of administration: municipalities, cabildos, and the regional government itself. During the presentation of the tool, the Vice President of the Government of the Canary Islands and Minister of Economy, Industry, Commerce and Self-Employed Workers, Manuel Domínguez, highlighted that “with this initiative, the Canary Islands takes a decisive step towards a more modern, efficient, and competitive administrative model, capable of attracting investment, generating employment, and responding to the real needs of society.”
The combination of the in-person and expert assistance of the Single Window with the immediacy of LEO establishes, according to the Chamber, an unprecedented support framework in the archipelago. The goal is for bureaucracy not to hinder economic development and for entrepreneurs to find real support from the very beginning.
