The Lanzarote Health Services Management has published the tender for the expansion works of the Tinajo Local Health Centre, with a budget of 657,526.74 euros and an execution period of five months.

The Lanzarote Health Services Management, part of the Health Department of the Government of the Canary Islands, has put out to tender the expansion works of the Tinajo Local Health Centre. The announcement was published this Tuesday, July 21, on the Public Sector Contracting Platform, with a base budget of 657,526.74 euros.

The awarding procedure is an open simplified process and of ordinary processing. The deadline for submitting offers ends on August 10, 2026, at 23:59 hours. This tender is being carried out after reviewing and correcting the initial file, according to sources from the Management.

The works include the creation of a new medical consultation room, a nursing consultation room, and a large multipurpose room that can be used by different professionals. In total, the constructed area of the building will increase by 131.42 square metres.

The expansion responds to the population growth that the basic health area of Tinajo has experienced in recent years, which has increased the demand for healthcare services. The current health centre serves 6,607 individual health cards, of which 863 correspond to children and the rest to adults.

The team at the Tinajo Health Centre consists of four Family and Community Medicine doctors, one paediatrician, six nurses, one physiotherapist, one midwife, one Nursing Auxiliary Care Technician, one social worker, and three administrative assistants.

During the year 2025, the centre recorded 36,898 Family Medicine consultations, 5,968 Paediatrics, 21,821 Nursing, 2,399 Physiotherapy, 675 Midwife, and 754 Social Worker consultations. These figures reflect the intense healthcare activity and the need for more space.

The execution period for the works will be five months from the signing of the contract. Once the expansion is completed, the residents of Tinajo will have larger and more functional facilities to meet their healthcare needs.
