The Yaiza Town Council has tendered the works for the new social club in Uga, with a budget of 758,000 euros and an execution period of eight months.

The project for the Uga social club has taken a definitive step. The Yaiza Town Council has published the tender for the works, with a base budget of 758,000 euros and an execution period of eight months. This initiative, which is part of the municipal infrastructure plan, aims to provide the village with a meeting and leisure space for residents.

An improved project following community suggestions

The new design incorporates substantial improvements compared to the original project. According to municipal sources, the requests from residents have been addressed, who demanded a more spacious and accessible layout. The building will feature a multipurpose main hall, kitchen, adapted restrooms, and a landscaped outdoor area.

The mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, has highlighted that "this social club will be a reference point for the community life of Uga." The works, once awarded, are expected to begin in the coming months and be completed by the end of 2026.

An investment that will energise the village

With this investment, the Yaiza Town Council aims to revitalise the social fabric of Uga, a locality that has seen population growth in recent years. The social club will host cultural events, family celebrations, and training activities, responding to a long-standing demand from residents.

The deadline for submitting bids is 15 April. Interested companies can consult the terms in the contracting profile of the Town Council. The Department of Works has indicated that local companies will be prioritised, although the tender is open at a national level.

Residents of Uga have been requesting a space like this for years. Until now, meetings and events were held in borrowed venues or on the street. With this new facility, the municipality is taking a step forward in improving the quality of life for its citizens.
