Paola Hernández leaves Costa Adeje Tenerife after a decade as a 'warrior'

Youth player Paola Hernández, after ten years at Costa Adeje Tenerife, is moving to Servette in Switzerland after the Swiss club paid her release clause.

Costa Adeje Tenerife confirmed on Monday the departure of one of its most emblematic players. Paola Hernández, 22, leaves the Tenerife club after a decade defending the blue and white shirt. The Swiss club Servette FC has paid her release clause, bringing an end to a chapter that began when the player was a child.

A career forged in the youth academy

Paola joined Costa Adeje Tenerife at just 14 years old. She trained in the reserve team and, at only 15, made her debut with the first team in October 2017 against Santa Teresa. Since then, she has played 150 official matches and scored seven goals, according to the club's statement.

The player has been a fundamental part of the team's growth in the elite. Her development led her to the Spanish national team at youth levels, where she became U-17 world champion and European champion in the same category, in addition to accumulating numerous call-ups with other youth teams.

A farewell with a sense of belonging

The club highlighted in its farewell the professionalism and commitment of the player. “Her sense of belonging made her an important player within the dressing room and a role model for young girls who dream of following the same path she started over a decade ago,” the statement reads.
