The Canary airline Binter has scheduled an additional 70 weekly flights for July and August on inter-island routes, restoring the direct connection between Lanzarote and La Palma, which will reach 14 weekly links from the second half of July.
Binter has launched its special summer schedule for the Canary inter-island routes, with an increase of 70 extra weekly flights compared to the low season. The company expects to operate over 1,700 flights a week within the archipelago, offering 126,220 seats and around 5,000 additional seats weekly compared to June.
New direct routes: Lanzarote-La Palma and Fuerteventura-La Palma
The main novelty of the summer season is the restoration of the direct connection between Lanzarote and La Palma. From early July, 10 weekly flights are already operational, and from July 19 until early September, the frequency will rise to 14 links per week. This route will facilitate travel between both islands, for both residents and tourists.
Additionally, from July 19, Binter will resume the direct route between Fuerteventura and La Palma, with six weekly flights that will continue until early September. With these two new connections, the airline aims to respond to the increased demand for inter-island mobility during the summer months.
More seats and frequencies for all of the Canary Islands
The enhancement of the schedule is not limited to the new routes. Binter has increased frequencies on most inter-island corridors, with particular attention to links between the capital islands (Tenerife and Gran Canaria) and the more western islands (La Palma, La Gomera, and El Hierro). In total, the airline will operate an average of 1,700 weekly flights, offering 126,220 seats.
Tickets are already available through all the company’s sales channels: the website bintercanarias.com, Binter's mobile app, the phone number 922/928 32 77 00, travel agencies, and airport offices. Prices vary depending on the advance purchase and demand, so the airline recommends buying tickets well in advance to guarantee a seat and obtain more economical fares.
“This reinforcement responds to our ongoing commitment to the connectivity of the Canaries and to providing an air transport network that contributes to the territorial cohesion of the archipelago,” Binter sources state.
For Canary residents, these new routes represent an improvement in connectivity with the non-capital islands, reducing travel times and avoiding layovers. A resident of Arrecife needing to travel to Santa Cruz de La Palma can do so in just over an hour, without needing to go through Tenerife. The same applies to travellers from Puerto del Rosario to La Palma, who now have a direct option.
The company reminds that Canary residents benefit from a 75% discount on the ticket price for inter-island flights, subsidised by the Government of the Canaries. Additionally, tourists visiting several islands during their holidays can take advantage of these new connections to plan more efficient routes.
With this schedule, Binter expects to cover the peak demand in July and August, months when the population of the islands significantly increases due to the arrival of visitors and the return of absent residents.
