The La Laguna event, the fifth round of the CCRA, will feature six Rally2 units and the participation of two-time continental champion Alexey Lukyanuk. The reigning Canary champions Enrique Cruz and Yeray Mujica defend their title with number 1.

The 12th La Laguna City Rally – Worten Trophy kicks off this Friday with a luxurious lineup. A total of 123 teams have registered for the event organised by Sport Eventos Tenerife, which this year is also a scoring event for the International Iberian Rally Trophy and has pre-inspection for the Spanish Asphalt Rally Championship (CERA).

Six Rally2 and candidates for the Canary title

The top category will be dominated by six Rally2 units, including the Toyota GR Yaris of reigning Canary champion Enrique Cruz, who starts with dorsal 1 alongside Yeray Mujica. Following him, the 2024 winner, Yeray Lemes, returns with a Citroën C3 Rally2 driven by Aitor Cambeiro.

Two-time European champion Alexey Lukyanuk makes his debut in the La Laguna event. The Russian-born driver, accompanied by Yury Kulikov, will take the wheel of a Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 in search of points for the Canary championship. His presence raises the level of an edition that already promised strong emotions.

Sergio Fuentes, with his Skoda Fabia RS Rally2, aims for his fourth consecutive podium in La Laguna. Manuel Mesa and Dailos González, with the Archiauto Ford Fiesta R5 MKII, also know the podium at this event and want to repeat. Jorge Rodríguez and Taydía Santana challenge with their Alpine A110, while Óscar Dóniz (Suzuki Swift Rally2-Kit) and Cristian del Castillo (Citroën C3 N5) await their opportunity if the favourites falter.

TCRA, Clio Trophy and regularity complete the lineup

The TCRA window includes Víctor Delgado, a previous edition winner, with his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X. He is joined by Rayco Tejera (BMW M3 E46), José Alberto Díaz (Porsche 997 GT3) and Airan Mejías (BMW M3 E46), another historical winner. All of them promise a battle in a very competitive category.

In Category 2, teams with Rally4 and Rally3 vehicles take centre stage. The debut of Javier Alonso and Mayte González's Renault Clio Rally3 stands out. The Clio Trophy Canarias gathers eight teams, led by Tenerife locals Walter Delgado and Alejandro Rodríguez. Trophies such as the '1.6 Cup', 'Costa Adeje Tenerife Sur' and 'Opel Trophy' add incentives to the competition.

The sport regularity, with a regional label, will feature 16 teams. In high average, Gran Canarians José Juan Díaz and José Díaz (BMW 323i) are the first. In low average, Tenerife locals Juan Carlos Salas and Eliseo Becerra (Toyota Celica) lead the list.

Institutional support and schedules now available

The rally has the backing of the La Laguna City Council, the Cabildo of Tenerife, the Government of the Canary Islands, and several private sponsors. The stages and schedules have already been published, and fans can check them to follow the action live. The event takes place this Friday and Saturday, starting from La Laguna.
