The Las Palmas Automobile Federation organised the Fuerteventura 2025 Champions Gala, where drivers and co-drivers received their awards. The event was notable for the tie in points in the touring cars category.

The Insular Youth Centre in Puerto del Rosario hosted the Fuerteventura 2025 Champions Gala, an event that marked the golden closure of the motorsport season on the island. More than fifteen drivers and co-drivers received their awards in a ceremony organised by the Las Palmas Automobile Federation (FALP).

Maximum equality in the touring cars category

One of the most talked-about moments of the night was the tie in points between the top two classified in the Fuerteventura Island Slalom Championship in touring cars. This reflects the extremely high competitive level that the 2025 season has had on the island.

The gala reviewed the main championships, from the Inter-Island Slalom of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura to the island championship. The awards were presented in an atmosphere of camaraderie and sporting pride.

National and international projection

Several teams from Fuerteventura are making the leap beyond the island's borders. Daniel Pérez and Alain González are competing this season in the Sandero Eco Cup Spain, a national one-make championship. Meanwhile, Virginia de León has adapted to the Toyota Yaris Rally5-Kit to participate in the Kobe Motor Rallys Cup, one of the most important promotion formulas in Spain.

During the gala, the president of FALP, Dani Ponce, emphasised Fuerteventura's role as a breeding ground for Canary Islands motorsport.

The island continues to demonstrate the potential of its talent pool, both in terms of sporting level and the commitment of drivers, co-drivers, teams, and clubs, highlighting the importance of the work done throughout the season.

The 2026 season kicks off with the Betancuria Hill Climb

The gala not only served to close the 2025 season but also to look to the future. The 2026 calendar will begin with the 13th Betancuria Hill Climb, one of the island's most emblematic events. Additionally, the 37th La Oliva Rally will gain international status by joining the calendar, featuring participation from French driver Yohan Rossel, a regular in WRC2.

For motorsport fans in Fuerteventura, this season promises thrilling emotions. The combination of local drivers in national competitions and the arrival of international figures places Fuerteventura on the motorsport map. The next event, the Betancuria Hill Climb, will be the first test for the island's teams.
