The Gran Canaria Tenis & Pádel Center will host the II ITF W15 Las Palmas de Gran Canaria from July 20 to 26, featuring players from over twenty countries. Gran Canaria's Silvia Bosch leads the local representation.

The second edition of the ITF W15 Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, a tournament that counts towards the WTA ranking, will take place from July 20 to 26 at the Gran Canaria Tenis & Pádel Center in Tamaraceite. The competition, which will bring together tennis players from over twenty countries, returns after the success of its debut with the ambition of establishing itself in the international calendar. Gran Canaria's Silvia Bosch will be the great local hope.

Silvia Bosch, the Excitement of Competing at Home

Gran Canaria tennis player Silvia Bosch approaches the tournament with special motivation. “It’s always special to compete at home. Having the opportunity to play an international tournament in Gran Canaria is an extra motivation and a great opportunity to continue growing as an athlete,” she stated during the presentation. Bosch, who aims to earn WTA points, hopes to “enjoy the experience and deliver her best performance.”

The local player will face rivals from around the world on the clay courts of the Tamaraceite centre. For her, competing in a tournament of this level without leaving the island is a luxury that not all Canary Islands' prospects have. Her presence also serves as a showcase for women's tennis in the Islands.

A Tournament that Promotes Canary Talent

The II ITF W15 Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is not just a sporting event, but a platform for Canary players to compete at home without the need to travel. The organisation, led by CD Costa Arenas, aims to establish the tournament as a fixed stop on the women's circuit. The first edition left a good taste, and now expectations are set to be exceeded.

The championship is sponsored by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, through the Insular Sports Institute, and the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council, via the Municipal Sports Institute. The Canary Tennis Federation also collaborates. For local fans, it is a unique opportunity to see international tennis just a few kilometres from home.

The facilities at the Gran Canaria Tenis & Pádel Center, in Tamaraceite, will be the epicentre of women's tennis for a week. The clay courts, common on the circuit, will test the technique and endurance of the participants. The tournament awards WTA points that can change the careers of young prospects.

An Event Not to Be Missed

The ITF W15 Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has become a key event for Canary women's tennis. The combination of international players and local talent, such as Silvia Bosch, promises an intense week. Organisers expect a good response from the public, who will be able to enjoy high-level matches without leaving the island. For Canarians dreaming of the elite, this tournament is a springboard. And for everyone else, a perfect plan for July.
