The road to Veneguera beach in Mogán reopens this Thursday, July 30, at 16:00, a week after Mayor Onalia Bueno's commitment to restore access.

Access to Veneguera beach in the municipality of Mogán will be available again from 16:00 this Thursday, July 30. The reopening of the road ends a week of closure that had caused discontent among residents and ecological and heritage groups.

Mogán's mayor, Onalia Bueno, met on July 24 with residents and representatives of these groups to address the situation. In that meeting, the mayor committed to restoring access as soon as possible and ensuring that the beach remains publicly accessible.

Following the efforts of the City Council, the company Costa Canaria de Veneguera has intensified the necessary work to reopen the road. Although the ravine where the beach is located is a natural space under the jurisdiction of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, the City Council has intervened to expedite the reopening.

Bueno defended during the meeting that access to this site must remain open to the public. Additionally, she proposed the creation of working groups to address the actions that Costa Canaria de Veneguera is undertaking in the ravine and the beach. These groups will bring together residents, organizations, competent administrations, and the entity itself.

The call for these working groups is scheduled for next September. The aim is to encourage the participation of all stakeholders involved in the management of the natural space and to find agreed solutions for its conservation and public use.

The reopening of the road is a relief for regular users of Veneguera beach, one of the most cherished in the municipality for its unspoiled surroundings. The City Council has reminded that access will continue to be public and that it will ensure its enjoyment by the community.

The City Council has positively assessed the collaboration of Costa Canaria de Veneguera in expediting the work. The mayor has thanked residents for their understanding during the closure period and reiterated her commitment to transparency and dialogue.

Veneguera beach, located in the southwest of Gran Canaria, is a popular destination for both residents and tourists. Its road access is crucial to ensure visitor influx and the economic activity of the area.

With this reopening, Mogán regains one of its main tourist attractions right in the middle of the summer season. The City Council hopes that the working groups in September will establish a stable management framework for the future.
