The City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has announced an intense cultural and festive programme from July 30 to August 2, with activities in all five districts, concerts, popular festivals and youth proposals.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife will experience a weekend full of culture and leisure with a programme that ranges from concerts and popular festivals to children's workshops and sports activities. The City Council has designed an agenda that will take place from Thursday, July 30, to Sunday, August 2, with proposals for all audiences spread across different spaces in the city.
The popular festivals will be one of the central themes. Taganana continues the celebrations in honour of Our Lady of the Snows with a variety festival on Friday and a dance on Saturday. Meanwhile, the Santa Clara neighbourhood will host the gala for the election of the festival queens, a popular dance and the traditional Family Festival, which will include a festival aimed at young people.
Music will play a prominent role with a new edition of Lavaderos Live Music. On Thursday, the Los Lavaderos Art Room will host Blue Rondo, who will offer a concert dedicated to new music in acoustic format. On Saturday, the same venue will host the charity concert 'Boleros Contra el Fuego', featuring José Luis León, Cancioneros, Toscal Romántico, Ruimán Quartet, Fragilísticos and Guayaquí 3.
The programming of the municipal libraries also offers a variety of activities. On Thursday, the José Saramago Library in Añaza will host the children's workshop 'Cuentos que se juegan: Animalario', a storytelling session for children aged three to six. That same day, the literary café 'La hora del rapsoda' will take place, with Daniel Bernal. On Friday, the same library will be the venue for the Breastfeeding Workshop, aimed at pregnant women and new mothers.
On Saturday, Distrito Joven will organise a new edition of the Mañaneo Joven at Las Teresitas beach, an activity designed to promote coexistence and healthy leisure among young people. Also on Saturday, the Tenerife Urbano programme will celebrate its first meeting of the season at La Granja Park, with activities such as parkour, skateboarding, BMX freestyle, calisthenics, 3x3 basketball and urban dances.
The cultural offering is completed with exhibitions open to the public. In the Los Lavaderos Art Room, 'Vigilia' can be visited, while the La Recova Art Centre hosts 'Creando en Tenerife'. Visits to the Masonic Temple and other exhibitions distributed across various cultural spaces in the capital of Tenerife are also open.
Additionally, TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes will screen the film 'Solomamma', and the closing of the XVII Band Conducting Course will take place. Among the major musical events, the Palmetum will host a concert by UB40, and the esplanade of the Port of Santa Cruz will be the stage for a concert by Romeo Santos, accompanied by Prince Royce.
The City Council encourages residents and visitors to consult the complete agenda and participate in the activities, which aim to energise the cultural and social life of the city during the summer. All proposals are free or have affordable prices, depending on each event.
