The Arguineguín Popular Race returns under the name of Mogán Sunset Run. The event will take place on Saturday, August 8, with distances of 5 km, 1,600 meters, and children's races.

The municipality of Mogán is reviving one of its most emblematic sporting events. The Arguineguín Popular Race, which has not been held since 2020, returns this year with a new name: Mogán Sunset Run. The event will take place on the night of Saturday, August 8, with a route that will run along the coastline of the seaside town at sunset.

The main event will be 5 kilometers, aimed at adults. Participants will need to complete two laps of a 2.5-kilometer circuit, which, according to the organisers, will enhance the spectacle for the audience. Additionally, there will be a distance of 1,600 meters for young people aged 14 to 18, as well as children's races of 400 and 800 meters.

The start and finish point will be located on the pedestrian section of Miguel Marrero Rodríguez Street in Arguineguín, at the height of the main access to Las Marañuelas beach. From 7:00 PM, participants and attendees will be able to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with music and entertainment.

The schedule for the events will start at 8:00 PM with the 400-meter race for children aged 6 to 8 years. Following that, at 8:10 PM, it will be the turn of participants aged 9 to 13, who will run 800 meters. The 1,600-meter distance for young people aged 14 to 18 will start at 8:25 PM. Finally, the 5-kilometer race will begin at 9:00 PM.

Registrations can be made through the website www.moganenmovimiento.com. The deadline will remain open until August 4, inclusive. The complete regulations are also available on that site.

With this initiative, Mogán aims to recover the sporting and festive atmosphere that characterised the previous six editions of the Arguineguín Popular Race. The night event, with the sea as a backdrop, aims to attract both local runners and visitors.

For locals and tourists who wish to witness the event, the pedestrian section of Miguel Marrero Rodríguez Street and the promenade of Arguineguín offer a privileged viewing point. The organisers recommend arriving early to enjoy the atmosphere and pre-event entertainment.
