The CL Unión Sardina Spar Gran Canaria has secured its first title of the season. The team from the southeast of the island triumphed this weekend over Castro Morales Motor Telde B by 15-18 in a thrilling final held at the El Chiquero arena, part of the DIELCA Third Category Tournament.
The match began with a clear dominance from the Sardina team. Mouhamed Diaye opened the scoring by defeating Manuel Álvarez, and with an inspired Adán Melián, the team achieved a 0-4 lead, eliminating Yenedey Gil, one of the most promising youth wrestlers from Castro Morales.
However, the Telde team responded with Josías Santana and his second line. Gradually, they closed the gap, equalising the score several times: 6-6, 7-7, 8-8, and 10-10. Castro Morales arrived at the final as champions of the Gran Canaria Cabildo League and the La Caja de Canarias Foundation Cup, and they showed why.

The most exciting moment for the Telde fans came when Yeday Suárez overcame Francisco González “Fafi” to make it 9-8, the first lead for Telde all night.
